Destitute OVC's

In villages on the outskirts of Mafikeng, there are families that are currently living in a vandalised houses. The challenge is that most of the families are child headed, the parents passed away a longtime ago. At the present moment, they are not attending school due to shortage of fundsin most instances the oldest of the children in the families are usually suffering from deseases, such as TB. Since no one is employed in the families they find it hard to live a normal life, if they are to go to school, they have no money for food, books, school uniforms and other necessities. We as a humanitarian organization , we are currently helping them in every possible way that we can, and we also reffer them to relevant government departments for further assistance.
Due to limited resources, we have been managing to give them food parcels, blankets, clothing and moral support.

Red Cross Caregiver Support Group.

One of our valued caregiver lost members of her family within a short space of time, lost in the family was her grandmother, sister and her mother, whilst the sister and grandmother passed away in the same week. She has managed to find much needed support within the Support group, our caregivers have been helping her overcome her grief through different support programmess. She inturn is now recruiting and encouraging more people to join the Red Cross. And she has been very thankfull to the Red Cross Society for their help and support.
